Top Progressive Rock Band: Yes

Friday, November 20th, 2009
On July 22, 1976 at the Pacific Colosieum in Vancouver, BC, I had the immense pleasure of seeing Yes in concert! The band Gentle Giant opened for them, and though they were great, Yes was far superior. I'll never forget that concert as long as I live. I was standing right in front. I could almost touch Steve Howe. But it was Chris Squire who had me mesmerized. I consider him a very under-rated bass guitarist. Here's one of my favorite Yes tunes:  Read More

The Rolling Stones: Rock Legends

Thursday, November 19th, 2009
Back in the day, when everybody else was listening to the Beatles, I chose to listen to The Rolling Stones. I guess at the time I could relate better to the music of the Stones and it was only as I grew older did I start to appreciate some of the Beatles music. Some of it still sounds a bit sappy to me, though. And the Stones music never did. I remember dancing my feet off to this tune at many a wedding or club:  Read More

Pink Floyd: High Hopes

Another one of my top 5 fave bands is definitely Pink Floyd. I love everything about their music: fantastic lyrics and dramatic music. Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure of attending one of their concerts. Here's a great tune from Division Bell. Enjoy!  Read More
