Black Magic Woman-Santana

February 9th, 2012

The first time I ever heard this song, I was totally captivated by the guitar-playing. This song brings back so many memories of parties and dancing in packed clubs. Carlos Santana has always been one of my favorite guitarists of all time. I never went to any of his concerts, but I had the enormous good fortune of watching him jam with Eric Clapton in the finale of one of Eric’s concerts back in the 70′s.

Revolution-The Beatles: I Dedicate This Song to the SOPA Blackout Participants

January 18th, 2012

Get ‘em where it hurts, people, with your wallets. That’s the type of revolution greedy corporate types understand. Just ask GoDaddy, when many thousands of accounts jumped ship when it was made public that GoDaddy supported the hated SOPA/PIPA bills. GoDaddy has since changed it’s tune.

Look, I’m all for punishing people who commit crimes. Copyright infringement is wrong. What I’m against is censorship and violation of freedom of speech. I’m against heavy-handed foreign policy. I’m against corporate bullying.

So today I bring you music from The Beatles, Revolution, a song which I feel is appropriate for today. Here’s to freedom!

David Bowie: Heroes

December 29th, 2011

David Bowie has always been one of my favorite performers. I remember vividly the Glass Spider tour I had the privilege of attending in 1987. David Bowie is amazing live. He puts on the best shows and just captivates his audience. This is one of my favorite classic rock songs of all time with an older David Bowie performing it with such style and class.
